Prometheus Staff Unionizes with IBEW Local 2222

Big news at Prometheus HQ this week. Our employees signed cards with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2222 of Dorchester, MA, and the new unit was voluntarily recognized by Prometheus management. Contract negotiations will begin shortly, but as a pro-labor company that almost exclusively builds websites for unions at all levels, we're excited to be a unionized employer. Now Prometheus will join the ranks of companies that carry the Union Label.

We're also thrilled that our unit of web design experts has an opportunity to help IBEW think about ways to organize the almost entirely non-union digital media sector. It will be a tough nut to crack, but would be a big step forward for the 21st century labor movement if that task can be accomplished.

Prometheus will do our part to make this dream a reality by standing up to non-union digital media companies and saying "we're union, we make a good profit and our workers make a good living - so don't use economics as an excuse to bust union drives ... take the high road and voluntary recognize unions when they are organized in your workplace."
